Short description

Silver & Sails is a browser trading game set in the Golden Age of Piracy. Start with a small boat, buy low and sell high across 79 real ports, outrun Blackbeard, and retire to your own island. No ads, no accounts, no in-game store.

Long description

It's 1715, and you're a merchant captain with a small boat and a little silver. Sugar is cheap in Barbados and dear in Boston; arms fetch a fortune when war breaks out with Spain. Silver & Sails is a trading and adventure game set across 79 real ports of the Atlantic world, from New England to West Africa and the Mediterranean.

Between ports, your ship follows real sea routes through trade winds, doldrums and hurricane season, and the voyage is rarely quiet: pirates, navy patrols, storms, castaways, messages in bottles and, very occasionally, something much larger than a whale. Aim every broadside yourself, or let quick-play settle it. Grow from a dugout canoe to a galleon, and earn enough to buy a private island and retire.

Built by a dad for his kids and tested by their friends, it's written so a 9-year-old can play alone, and it's deep enough that the adults keep playing too. It teaches geography, economics and history, including hard history told honestly and with care. It runs in any web browser. There are no ads, no accounts and no in-game store.
