Terms of use
Last updated October 8, 2026
These terms cover your use of Silver & Sails (the game) and this website. By playing, you agree to them. If a child is playing, a parent or guardian agrees on their behalf.
Playing the game
You may play the game for personal, family and non-commercial educational use, including in a classroom or homeschool group. Please don't copy, resell or redistribute the game, or try to break its saves or servers.
Purchases
The full game is sold as a one-time purchase that unlocks the game for a family code. Payment is handled by our payment provider, which is the seller of record and whose terms also apply to the transaction. If something goes wrong with a purchase, or you're unhappy with it, email us. Refund requests made within 30 days will be honored.
Family codes and saves
Anyone who knows your family code can load, change or delete your saves, so share it only with people you trust. We back up our database, but we can't promise that saves will never be lost. Cloud saves are free and offered as-is.
History and content
The game is set in 1715–1730 and portrays real history, including piracy, war and the Atlantic slave trade. These subjects are treated with care and in an age-appropriate way, but some families may want to play alongside younger children. The game is a simplification of history, not a reference work.
Changes and availability
We update the game often and may change, add or remove features. We'll try to keep it available, but we can't guarantee it will always be online or free of bugs.
The legal part
The game is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything relating to the game is limited to the amount you paid for it.
